Silvio Perdomo a grade seven master roller acquired his skills working at the H. Upmann cigar factory in Cuba. He spent twenty of his years mastering the skill of blending and rolling cigars. He was very passionate about his work and he instilled this passion in his son Nick Perdomo who through hard work also achieved a master roller status. Eventually he married his sweetheart Mary who bore him two sons, Nick Jr. and William. Nick Jr. took great interest in cigar making by watching his father and grandfather days on end making cigars. His fascination translated to interest and even though he wanted to learn the art of cigar making, his father and grandfather wanted him to pursue a different career and therefore he joined the United States Navy. Thereafter he went on to work for the Federal Government as an Air Traffic Controller in Miami, Florida, however his interest for cigars had not deterred and that is when he decided to quit his day job to produce cigars instead. Nick Jr. employed his wife who was his first employee at the time and thereafter he employeed seven rollers and with the help of both his father and grandfather, he had produced 9,700 cigars within the first years and for five years he continued to make cigars.
In the beginning, like all new business there was not much success, nevertheless this did not deter Nick Jr. for his passion was too great and with the support of his wife and father he opened the Nick?s Cigar Co. in 1990 and as the company continued to grow more of his family members became a part of it. Micheal Argenti, his brother-in-law was the Vice President who had a vast knowledge in cigar making. His mother became the office manager, his father the general manager and his brother Billy is the Director of Marketing. The Perdomo cigars are currently manufactured in a factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The Perdomo family has invested their whole lives learning the skill of blending and rolling cigars to produce some of the best cigars in the market today.
